Matthew Tyler, Violence Prevention Supervisor


Matthew Tyler, Violence Prevention Supervisor, with Aid to Victims of Domestic Abuse (AVDA).  He received his bachelor’s degree in social sciences from Florida Atlantic University in 2009.  He spent four years in behavioral health and professional medical training.  He has ten years of professional instruction and classroom presentation experience. Matt joined the domestic violence field and public health education as a Violence Prevention Educator with AVDA in 2015. Through the Dept. of Justice’s Office of Violence Against Women, Matt has worked specifically around engaging men and boys to prevent violence against woman and children. Matt has worked and trained with national organizations leading the work to end domestic and dating violence.  He has spent the last eight years as a project coordinator facilitating professional and community trainings, youth primary prevention education, community action activities and developing campaign materials with a focus on public health prevention strategies and youth development.
